About Us
New Hope Holy Commandment Temple, Inc., is a Hebrew congregation located in the Brewerytown neighborhood of North Philadelphia. Founded by Shepherd Mother Nellie Harris in March 2005, New Hope serves as a place of renewal for the downcast who are seeking to find hope beyond their present circumstances. We are built on righteousness (Tzedek), we teach truth (Emet), and we strive to do all things in love (Ahavah). No matter where you are in this journey called life, New Hope is a place where you can learn, grow, and serve. Our weekly services and various programs aim to uplift, inspire, and enable you to live a holy life pleasing to the Creator.

We envision New Hope as a center of holistic empowerment for our members, community, and the city. To be a place where people learn how to put their hope in G-d alone.
Our Mission
With the help of G-d, it is the mission of New Hope to provide spiritual and sociocultural enrichment to all who enter our doors (in-person or virtually), fulfilling Isaiah 61:1-4. We endeavor to save and transform lives by giving hope, a new hope!
